Discussing this with a friend while preparing for an Elizabethan-era Ren Faire.

How did Elizabeth perceive her mother? Anne died rather early in Elizabeth's life, early enough that she probably would have had to learn about who she was from third parties who would have probably painted a rather biased picture to her of Anne the adulteress.

Read THE LADY IN THE TOWER by Alison Weir. Gives a nice picture of the situation.

Isn't she great? I've read all of her books. She's what got me into the Tudors in the first place.

I hear her book on Isabella of France is less than sympathetic, which is very interesting since dear Bella was quite the ruthless bitch.

It was really good. I thought she was fair.

I absolutely adore Tudor history. My main interest is Anne Boleyn (she is my hero) and the Henry VIII period. I've read The Lady in the Tower and working my way through The Children of Henry VIII! I just adore her writing style, so easy to read.

I um, was just wondering, are you accepting friend requests at the moment?
